Society of the

30th Infantry Regiment Association
Last Update
March 01, 2011
|
Society of the 30th Infantry Regiment Association
Regrettably, The Society of
the 30th Infantry Association has ceased to exist for the
following reasons:
Morris Kirk’s physical condition has not improved to the
extent that he can pick up where he left off a year ago. Our
membership has dropped below 200 members which makes it
impossible for us to mail the Friscan Reporter at bulk mail
rates. That would make it very expensive to continue to
print and mail the newsletter. We ceased to receive input
for the newsletter from more than a handful of our members a
long time ago. Morris’ source of articles for the newsletter
dried up.
The 1st Battalion at Ft.
Stewart said they did not want the Friscan Reporter to end
so they would take care of it. However, as far as we know,
only one copy has been printed and posted on the internet.
With Regrets,
Carl Q. Topie

The unit gathered in the semblance of the Marne emblem to commemorate
their upcoming rotation in Iraq.

Photos
My grandfather was with the 30th Infantry in the early
1930’s. Here are some of his baseball team photos. His name was
Robert John Stephen Lyman Sr. His service number is 6785388. I would
like to know if there are any records where I can obtain more
information on his time with the unit.
Any help is much appreciated
-thank you
